Matter lifecycle management (MLM) is the best practice process by which in-house legal practitioners — alone or together with outside counsel — effectively and efficiently project manage a legal matter from start to finish. Unbiased Consulting served as primary architect of the MLM framework recently adopted by the CLOC trade organization (see www.cloc.org), itself an adaptation of legal project management best practices derived from the Project Management Institute’s widely-accepted Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
